“T-O-T-A-L-L-Y!” BY KIMLEIGH SMITH TAKES TOP AWARDS AT HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL

Award Winning One-Woman Show Announces Los Angeles Encore Performances at Theatre Asylum’s “Best of the Hollywood Fringe”

Los Angeles, CA/July, 2010/positivePR – Actress Kimleigh Smith announced today with Director Paula Killen that six performances of Smith’s award winning one-woman show, “T-O-T-A-L-L-Y!” will be featured at Theatre Asylum’s “Best of the Hollywood Fringe,” between July 10, and August 1, 2010.

Smith recently performed her show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, where it won both the Top of the Fringe Award and the Fringe Award for Theatre – the top two honors – amongst a field of more than 200 shows, and earned a coveted “GO” from LA Weekly’s Steven Leigh Morris.

“…thanks entirely to Smith’s superhuman vivacity, her blistering sense of humor…[T-O-T-A-L-L-Y! is]…among the best.”
Steven Leigh Morris, LA Weekly

“Kimleigh Smith is a powerful, sexual, important performer…I admire her bravery, her acceptance of her past and the way she can kick her legs to Jesus as if she were a bendy doll.”  Mark Baratelli, TheDailyCity.com

This autobiographical one-hour show takes the audience through a journey that is uplifting, heartbreaking and powerful as they witness the story of Smith as a young cheerleader transform into a powerful woman who embraces her inner superhero, reclaims her sexuality and lives as a whole, healthy woman who cheers for life! Writer/actress Kimleigh Smith commented, “You must be willing to sacrifice who you are for what you want to become. That’s what “T-O-T-A-L-L-Y!” is really all about.”

The show is directed by Paula Killen, and recently played to sell-out crowds in Orlando, and Los Angeles.  “T-O-T-A-L-L-Y!” opens at the New York International Fringe Festival on August 13, 2010.

Currently, Smith’s show is scheduled to run at the Theatre Asylum (6320 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles) on July 10, 18, 24, 25, 31, and August 1, as part of their “Best of the Hollywood Fringe” event.
